The Beautiful Death 2 by ~thebeautifuldeath76
Why is this portrait titled “The Beautiful Death”? Is there a sniper off-screen about to blow this chick’s brains out? Or is it simply because this hideously deformed mutant girl wishes for death? I’ll admit: If my neck was double the size it should be, and I had a lump the size of an orange protruding from above my misshapen breasts, I’d probably beg for an end to my life as well.
We’ve all heard the expression “Eyes bigger than your stomach”, but have you ever seen eyes bigger than a goddamn mouth? “What big eyes you have, beautifuldeath!” Are they “all the better to see us with,” or do you honestly believe that they make you look more “kawaii”? We get it: You fucking love Japan! You mention it enough times on your profile to get the point across! If you really loved anime so much, you’d stop trying to imitate it and contributing to the stereotype that you and your otaku brethren are as talentless as you are obsessive!
I think my favorite part of the picture is the hand coming from out-of-frame to adjust her glasses. If you look closely… Oh, who am I kidding? It’s as fucking obvious as pasty white American in Japan that there’s something wrong with the hand! The thumb’s on the wrong side, and the fingers are as long as full-grown bananas! Either the artist can’t wrap her head around the concept of anatomy, or there’s supposed to be another mutant just like her in the picture helping her to adjust her glasses. Her glasses, by the way, which fail to offset her hilariously broad shoulders or her lopsided hairdo.
To be fair, drawing is not our submitter’s forte, as an excerpt from her profile clearly indicates.
IF you want you can call me Kristin…
<3= Orange Crush, Wrting, ANIME, Drawing, nerdy things, MARTH, Code Geass, teenage ninjas, origami, fan freak outs, et cetra
Hmm… I’m noticing a pattern here. Kristin seems to have a nasty habit of being absolutely awful at the things she claims to “<3.” From failing to imitate her artistic idols from the glorious nation of Nippon, to not even being able to properly spell the word “writing” (Never mind her lack of consistency in capitalization), it seems as if she’s just not cut out for creative endeavors.
Luckily, she’s only 15 years old: She has her whole life ahead of her! She can still do well in school and get a steady job as an accountant, or something equally as bland and soulless.

I don’t see what’s wrong with this piece. With a little bit of work, she can be as good as yuumei is! (http://www.yuumei.deviantart.com/)
No, with a GREAT deal of solid graft and study for at least 5 years. In her currant state.
@Shenanigans not that long, you can improve VERY fast, she just needs to work hard. No one’s even pointing out major flaws in this piece, it’s fabulous!
OK it does depend on her as a person more really. i have no idea whether she is studying anatomy or practising properly. from personal experience of the art community i doubt it..
Well maybe, you’d have to ask her.
after a little bit of practice … ???
and after a little more practice she’ll be like davinci, and after a little bit of practice on the harmonica i’ll be able to compose like Beethoven. and after a little bit of practice cutting himself orange socks will be able to perform open heart surgery.
As much as someone who can’t draw shouldn’t say “it can’t be done” someone who can’t draw shouldn’t say “it can be done”. Accept that art involves skills that lay people don’t appreciate no matter how many museums they visit or art books they skim read. Your faith in her ability to reach yuumei is baseless. Ask yuumei how well did she draw at 15. That will be your marker as to whether whats-her-face can reach yuumei’s level.
Maybe someone should make a post on concept art .org or something asking how much work needs to be done to get to a certain level of competence and post it as an article here. Some of them are pretty open to the idea that certain people should just give up.
“No, with a GREAT deal of solid graft and study for at least 5 years. In her currant state.”
Is this first hand or second hand knowledge? ie. have you practiced for 5 years yourself?
