I found this gem while browsing through deviantART’s most recent submissions. To those of you out there who sort your frontpage submissions by “popularity”, I would encourage you to sort by “most recent” instead, as doing so gives you a better perspective of what dA has become: A breeding ground for the self-indulgent and overly-defensive.

Kindergartners are Better Artists than Tartlets

The picture above is the amalgamation of just about every kindergarten student’s “family portrait.” It shows no concern for proper lighting, demonstrates a complete lack of detail, and a blatant disregard for transparent overlapping. Yet, despite all this, more warmth emanates from this simplistic crayon creation than the vast majority of submissions to deviantART.
