Greetings, true believers! This is your friendly neighborhood Habermann, giving an update to all you Kultists out there who may be asking yourself (Or asking me, on YouTube / deviantART / Skype / other places I don't actually check lol), "What the fuck happened to METOKUR?"
Basically, our 3rd ex-webhost
Linode decided at some point - for some reason they decided not to fill us in on - to suspend us. They were nice enough not to clutter our inboxes with any notification, prior to [or even after] the suspension. They were also considerate enough not to fill up our harddrives with a back-up of the site, leaving us with
a nearly month-old back-up Pawnstick happened to have on hand.
"Why did it take so long for you to find a new server," you may be asking me? The answer to that is quite simple: I am as lazy as I am incompetent. (Which is to say, I am incredibly lazy, as well as incredibly incompetent) In case you didn't know, I know nothing about "databases," "SQLs," "VPS," or even "HTML!" (I have been informed that that last acronym is very important in constructing Internet webzones).
In addition to that, our webmaster / whipping boy - the aforementioned Pawnstick - decided to quit the Internet, so that he may pursue his dream of joining a Mexican street gang or something. This would leave me in charge of setting the site back up (Which would be quite the difficult task for me to tackle, considering my aforementioned inability to code my way out of a paper bag). Luckily, I have brought in long-time Kultist
"dihydrocodeine" to help get shit set up, and keep it running.
At the time of my posting this (The 6th of September, in the space year 2011), we are still in the process of migrating our Wordpress database to the new server. As I mentioned earlier, the back-up we are running on is nearly a month old (Relative to the day before we went offline). As such,
many comments / posts will most likely be missing; not only from our Wordpress pages, but from the forum as well.
For those of you who may have registered your forum accounts before the 10th of July (The date of our back-up),
you will need to re-register your account. Needless to say,
any posts made / profile changes made since the 10th of July are also lost.
